Job Title: Backend Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Developer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for driving the development of critical product components using our tech stack, which includes Node.js, TypeScript, and MySQL. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in OOPs, API development using Hapi/Express Framework, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tech Stack Mastery:

    • Utilize your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and MySQL to develop and maintain robust backend components.

    • Demonstrate proficiency in API development using the Hapi/Express Framework.

  2. Ownership and Accountability:

    • Act as the technical owner of assigned product components, taking responsibility for their design, development, and maintenance.

    • Embrace ownership throughout the entire software lifecycle, from conception to deployment.

  3. Problem Solving:

    • Foster a mindset of finding the best solution, prioritizing effectiveness and sustainability over quick fixes.

  4. Good to Have Skills:

    • Showcase familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda and SQS.

    • Experience with Sequelize ORM is a plus.

    • Conduct unit testing using Mocha/Chai to ensure code reliability.

    • Previous exposure to US/European projects is advantageous.

  5. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute to overall project success.

  6. Adaptability:

    • Thrive in a fully remote work environment, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Backend Developer.

  • In-depth knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, MySQL, and OOPs principles.

  • Proven experience in API development using Hapi/Express Framework.

  • Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, SQS) and Sequelize ORM is a plus.

  • Strong commitment to quality, problem-solving, and finding optimal solutions.

  • Experience with unit testing using Mocha/Chai.

  • Previous exposure to US/European projects is a bonus.

Location:

Fully remote position with the option to work from anywhere in Canada.

Compensation:

Competitive annual salary ranging from $52,000 to $96,000 USD, commensurate with experience and skills.
