Quest, an acclaimed provider of IT management software, offers a diverse range of solutions addressing both common and intricate IT challenges. Currently, we are seeking a Payroll Advisor for India, dedicated to efficiently managing and overseeing payroll operations throughout the region.

The role of the India Payroll Advisor involves the meticulous processing of company payroll across India. This necessitates collaboration with global team members, the broader HR team, and external vendors, reflecting our commitment to ensuring streamlined payroll operations.

Location: Remote
Overall Experience - 6+ years

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Strategic Direction:

    • Direct and lead team members in achieving strategic and operational objectives.

    • Ensure alignment of efforts with the overall goals of the group.

  2. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for internal controls and audits.

    • Oversee governmental reporting and compliance, ensuring accuracy in payroll data and timely salary disbursement.

  3. Team Collaboration:

    • Take the lead in assigned activities, working collaboratively with team members, especially in the APJ payroll domain.

    • Foster a collaborative and accountable environment to meet team goals.

  4. Customer Relationships:

    • Maintain internal and external customer relationships by interacting frequently with key stakeholders and business partners.

  5. Vendor Management:

    • Manage outsourced vendors, serving as a liaison to resolve payroll issues between vendors and Quest.

  6. Payroll Process Management:

    • Develop procedures and oversee the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of payroll checks, payroll taxes, and team member benefit payments.

    • Review additions and changes to the computerized payroll system.

    • Manage payroll metrics and scorecards for efficiency.

  7. Process Improvement:

    • Identify, analyze, and improve existing processes by recommending creative and logical solutions.

  8. Statutory Compliance:

    • Deal with all statutory bodies, ensuring periodic compliances, handling inspections, managing documentation, and representing the company in front of statutory authorities.

  9. Accounting and Finance:

    • Manage payroll accounting, including passing entries, reconciliation, and audit schedules.

    • Liaise with auditors and handle accounting and finance-related queries related to payroll and benefits.

  10. Leave Management and Data Handling:

    • Handle leave management and effectively manage data associated with payroll activities.

  11. Stakeholder Interaction:

    • Address employee queries and collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders such as Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Accounting, and Legal teams, as well as external stakeholders like Payroll vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with a strong customer focus.

  • Core expertise in Indian payroll with a willingness to learn and support team members in other regions.

  • Educational qualification: Degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting or a relevant field is highly preferred.

  • Proficient in using Excel.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Flexibility to work across different time zones during important meetings and deadlines.

Preferences:

  • Experience and expertise in using various HRIS/Payroll tools like Dayforce, Ceridian, or similar tools is highly preferred and considered an advantage.
