Job Description

The Senior CPU Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of CPU modules, ensuring adherence to architectural specifications. This role requires making informed architectural trade-offs based on features and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Implementation:

• Lead the design and implementation of CPU modules, ensuring adherence to architectural specifications.

• Make informed architectural trade-offs based on features, performance requirements, and power constraints.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, verification engineers, and software teams, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

• Perform detailed analysis and optimization of CPU modules to achieve performance goals.

• Conduct thorough design reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall quality of the CPU design.
  

Verification and Validation:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality and performance of CPU modules.

• Collaborate with verification engineers to ensure effective testbench development and coverage closure.

• Analyze and debug issues identified during verification and validation processes.
  

Documentation and Communication:

• Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, design descriptions, and verification plans.

• Effectively communicate design decisions, trade-offs, and results to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Continuous Learning and Innovation:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest CPU architecture trends, technologies, and industry advancements.

• Explore and propose innovative solutions to enhance CPU performance, power efficiency, and overall system integration.
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Significant experience in CPU microarchitecture design and implementation.

• Proficiency in Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Experience with industry-standard CPU design and verification tools is preferred.
